REALIZING POTENTIALAs a family  operation, we take pride in our cattle and the future of our industry. Our cattle are a result of bloodlines from across the nation that we have sought out for specific traits. We believe in finding diamonds in the rough and developing them into something we can be proud of. Our heifers are competitive in the show ring and perform just as well in the pasture. The bulls we raise are complete packages for both the purebred and the commercial producer. Overall, we have a passion for the Shorthorn breed and the youth who exhibit them

TWO BRANDS, ONE GOAL:

We strive to produce exceptional show heifers that juniors can afford, and functional bulls that breeders of all disciplines can use.

ABOUT US

Based in Alex, Oklahoma, Double J Shorthorns began when James and Beverly Freed's young daughter expressed an interest in showing cattle. Later on, Beverly developed her own herd, Jeepetta Cattle Company, in addition to the family operation. Today, both brands work together to raise nationally competitive cattle and continue to get youth involved in the breed.

Our Shorthorn cattle are bred to compete with the best in the breed. We utilize structurally correct sires with moderate birth weights to produce feminine looking females that have excellent milk and udder quality, all while being docile enough for kids to show.

This year, we had the great honor of being acknowledged for our dedication to the breed, by being recognized as a show honoree at the 2021  American Royal National Shorthorn Show. You can see our full feature write up in the Shorthorn County Magazine or check out our Bio at the link to the left.
